The Chuck Siebrasse Corn Boil

This year, the DeKalb Corn Fest Board of Directors renamed the Corn Boil in honor of Chuck Siebrasse, a lifelong DeKalb resident and respected community leader, Chairman of the Corn Boil for 25 years, as well as past Chairmain of Corn Fest. Chuck passed away on February 5, 2009. We honor his memory with this tribute to recognize his lifelong commitment to Corn Fest and his tireless contributions to community service.

Free steamed sweet corn is available on Saturday during the festival from 11am until 2pm (or when corn runs out). Over 100,000 people from around the Midwest attend the event which serves over 70 tons of sweet corn during the weekend!  Uncooked corn is available for purchase throughout the weekend at various booths and food vendors.

Corn Boil volunteers needed—Volunteers are needed to help serve corn Saturday, Aug. 21, during the Corn Boil portion of DeKalb’s annual Corn Fest. Corn is served 11 a.m.-2 p.m. To volunteer, call Brian Klatt, (815) 756-1919. This is a great way to promote teamwork within your business while helping the community with its major festival of the year. You are welcome to wear apparel with your business logo while you help!
